Calgary, the Economic Powerhouse
Cow Town has done it again. The city has made another “top” list this time by the Z/Yen Group for most competitive financial centres in the world for 2012. Calgary is the only city that hasn’t been listed before and is one of the only four Canadian cities that made it! With a rating of 642, Canada’s energy hub placed 28th out of 77 cities.
If you don’t know about the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), it is an annual index that tracks ever changing competitiveness between global financial centres of the world. Forbes magazine just happened to put Canada as the #1 country globally to conduct business in too. Cow Town is a global energy bastion and provides substantial financing for commodities, contributing greatly to Canada’s success as a whole. No wonder we are passing expectations.
