Calgary's Newest Landmark - The Bow
Iconic, amazing and majestic come to my mind when i see this amazing new office tower in downtown.
In Calgary, "the Bow" can have two meanings. First, there is the Bow river, which runs through Calgary. Second there is the Bow skyscraper downtown. The Bow will be finished in 2011 and is the tallest building in Canada outside of Toronto. Designed by renowned architects Foster and Partners of London, The Bow is Calgary's newest landmark and is visible from almost anywhere in the city.
Now almost complete, the Bow started construction in 2007 and will be the home of Encana and Cenovus, both large oil and gas companies headquartered in Calgary.
At 58 stories tall and over 1 Million square feet this building is unique and was designed to reflect some of the Bow rivers attributes.
