Cibo Calgary Restaurant Review
Cibo is a brand new Italian restaurant on 17th Avenue SW in Calgary with absolutely delicious gourmet food! The other day when I was looking for a place to eat, I was very glad I stopped by for some lunch. Upon entering the restaurant, I felt like I was walking into a warehouse of some sort. Its design didn’t particularly tickle my fancy, but the seating was spacious and there was lots of it, plus the waitress was as friendly as ever. Cibo’s menu has Italian names with English descriptions of the plate, so our server was definitely helpful in deciding on what to get.
My friend and I decided to share a pizza as well as order our own pasta dishes, which we also shared. I ordered the Rigatoni with sausage, mushroom, peppers, garlic, spinach and grand podano topped with a juicy tomato sauce that left our mouth’s watering for more. My lunch counterpart ordered the Farfalle, a dish with chicken, pancetta, sun dried tomato, pine nut, peppers and basil. Every taste was balanced nicely and just the right amount of sauce was used, making the dish not too wet and not too dry. We decided on the thin crust Gorgonzola pizza topped with pears, walnuts and honey. Its sweet taste was a surprise and de-lish, especially on a pizza. I loved it! To top it all off, pitchers of sparkling water for two dollars per person washed it all down superbly.
If you are on 17th Avenue SW in Calgary, I recommend stopping in at Cibo for some amazing pastas, pizzas and more. The average dish goes for approximately seventeen bucks, so it’s definitely an affordable lunch and dinner spot you shouldn’t miss! Find Cibo on 17th Avenue SW between 9th St SW and 10th St SW.
