According to the City of Calgary, Mahogany beats all other communities for amount of new single-family home permit applications with a total of 258 for the first 8 months of the year.

The multiple award-winning lake community, by developer Hopewell Residential, also led the city in single-family home permit applications in 2015.

The group of home builders currently offering single-family homes in Mahogany include:

  • Excel Homes
  • Jayman Built
  • Morrison Homes
  • Hopewell

These single-family properties, as well as several multi-family developments, offer new Calgary home buyers a wide range of purchasing options and allow for people from all walks of life to take up residence in the highly desirable family-oriented neighbourhood.

Runners up to Mahogany for new single-family home permit applications include Auburn Bay and Saddle Ridge, with 221 and 225 respectively, says the city’s planning and development department.

Auburn Bay is yet another award-winning lake community in Calgary’s southeast quadrant. Like Mahogany, it has a wide range of home options for buyers of all sorts: semi-estate, apartments, townhomes, starters, move-ups and more!

Saddle Ridge, an established community in the northeast quadrant, has two new subdivisions under development.

Those are Saddlestone by Genesis Land and Savanna in Saddle Ridge by Genstar Development Co., both playing their respective parts in Saddle Ridge’s second-place finish for new home permit applications.

Meanwhile, Cityscape was first city-wide for multi-family developments with a total of 14 permit applications. For these permits, it’s very likely that there are multiple units’ coinciding with each application.

Mattamy Homes have been able to offer both pre-construction sales and quick-possessions for new townhomes, giving buyers a wide variety of options to choose from.
