Flipp’n Burgers Calgary Restaurant Review
Where is one of the best late night places to go in Kensington when burgers are on your mind? Flipp’n Burgers, of course!
Located on the main Kensington BRZ strip of 10th Street NW, this small cafe style restaurant serves up some of the best beef and chicken burgers in the area that will have you lickin’ your fingers all the way home.

Atmosphere and Service
Inside of Flipp’n Burgers you’ll find a trendy, red-walled interior covered in old black and white photos of various scenes from New York, New York, a décor feature I didn’t appreciate until I sat down and began to survey my surroundings.
Apart from the interior, the host / cook was very friendly and helpful to me as I wasn’t too sure what to order my first time in - between the mushroom Swiss, Flipp’n Burger special and spicy chicken – her description of each led me to choosing the last of the three.
Food
Spicy chicken burger w/ gluten-free bun - $9.00 + $2.00 – Breaded chicken breast grilled, smothered in Frank’s hot sauce and toppings of choice.
If you love buffalo chicken, then you will absolutely love this burger! Bathed from head to toe in Frank’s savoury hot sauce, the cook did an exceptional job of cooking the chicken to perfection. Even a breaded chicken breast can still retain its juicy flavour!
I chose lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mustard, mayonnaise, pickles and olives for toppings. Flipp’n Burger also offers a selection of extras for a small cost including:
- Avocado
- Frizzled onions
- Pico De Gallo (black bean, tomato, cilantro, corn salsa)
- Beefy bacon
- Extra beef patty
- Pineapple
- Goat / Cheddar / Swiss cheese
With each burger you can also choose from a variety of sides for a small cost including:
- Regular French fries
- Yam fries
- Onion rings
- Fried dill pickles
- Salads
The next time you find yourself in Kensington and got burgers on your mind, definitely check out Flipp’n burgers – you won’t be disappointed! And the best part is that the restaurant is open till late:
