New Asian Style Mega Mall Coming to Northern Calgary!

A few years back it was Cross Iron Mills that was catching the attention of all Calgary shoppers. But times are changing, and so are shopping demands which is why officials have recently released plans to build a unique 500 vendor “mega-mall” located between the Calgary International Airport and Cross Iron Mills.

What’s so unique about The New Horizon Mall? To start, its design is being adopted from a traditional Asian shopping mall template where there is a mix of space leasing and ownership opportunities.

It will also fashion state-of-the-art architecture across its ground and second floors which will respectively host 400 and 100 shops, vendors, restaurants and more. Mall goers will also enjoy fully heated underground parking during the cold winter months here in Calgary.

Also part of are two large entertainment venues – the first, a traditional style Chinese stage on the top floor and the second, a main stage on the ground level. Plans for a massive supermarket and new hotel are also in the works. Will it make our list of Best Calgary Shopping Malls? Its very possible!

Location

The location of the new mega-mall couldn’t be any better as Deerfoot Trail (Queen Elizabeth Highway 2) will provide shoppers with easy access to the facility. Furthermore, it’s situated in an area that has already seen a dramatic increase in traffic over the past few years mostly attributed to the new Cross Iron Mills outlet mall completed a few years back.

It’s likely that many Calgary shoppers will stop at both malls on their way out simply because of the close proximity that The New Horizon Mall and Cross Iron Mills will have to each other. Now we will just have to wait and see what this new and exciting mega mall has to offer us shoppers in Calgary! I’m excited, aren’t you?!
