Top Chefs Feature in Big Taste Collaboration Dinner

- Catch & the Oyster Bar hosts culinary collaboration dinner, pairing regional chef’s with pristine BC wineries -

Five Chefs, five courses and five wineries will form the foundation for a one-night-only collaboration dinner at Catch Restaurant on Sunday, March 5. Held in union with Downtown Calgary’s Big Taste, the collaboration dinner will include an oyster and bubbles reception followed by an individually sourced set-menu.

The five-course degustation aims to draw on the contemporary and international styles that have devised Catch Restaurant’s dining. “I’m looking forward to getting into the kitchen with Kyle and Brian,” Catch & the Oyster Bar Chef de Cuisine Jordan Walsh says. “I love what they’re doing at their respective restaurants and it’ll be fun way to highlight our culinary strengths.”

Chef Jordan will be joined by former Catch & the Oyster Bar Chef’s Michel Nop, Kyle Groves and Brian Michaels, along with First & Vine’s Executive Chef Michael Frame. “The restaurant chef’s we have collaborated with have a similar dining ethos to us. We want to introduce our industry friends to the uniqueness of southern Alberta dining.”

Diners should expect a menu replete with fresh, seasonal produce and expertly matched British Columbian wines. “The courses will be drafted in accordance to each chef’s delegated winery. Our partnered winemakers are taking a very hands-on approach, making sure both the wine and the dishes are in perfect harmony,” Catch & the Oyster Bar restaurant manager Thom Hill said.
