#1 – Quick-and-Easy Access
Briefly mentioned above was Capitol Hill’s convenient location that not only gives residents quick-and-easy access to main city routes like Crowchild Trail, 14th Street NW and 16th Avenue N (Trans Canada Highway), but also to public transportation via Banff Trail LRT Station and post-secondary institutions, as well as amenities – and lots of them.
Heading east on the Trans Canada Highway, you will find a wide range of amenities within a matter of minutes including everything from restaurants and grocers to banks and gas stations.
Let’s not forget about how close the Kensington BRZ and all of its shops and services are; about a 10 minute walk southeast. See more at Kensington – Calgary Walkable Communities today.
Meanwhile heading north for a few minutes on Crowchild Trail and Capitol Hill you will come across Brentwood Village Mall, and a bit further than that Dalhousie Station Shopping Mall.
For those who frequent the city centre, Banff Trail’s CTrain station is less than a 10 minute walk and will get you downtown after a few short stops.
#2 – Confederation Park & Golf Course
Enjoy walking outdoors for a leisurely stroll with the dog? What about playing some catch with the kids during the summer heat? Perhaps it’s exercising on the bike paths that you enjoy, or something else?
Whichever outdoor activity it is that tickles your fancy, nearby Confederation Park’s massive green space and pathway system will facilitate all your needs. That includes a 9-hole golf course at Confederation Park Golf Course which also has a two-tiered driving range.
Other nearby parks include Canmore Park, Riley Park and the Bow River pathways are all reachable within a matter of minutes on foot just in case you feel like changing up the scenery.
#3 – Real Estate Choices
Much of Capitol Hill’s real estate was built in the post-war era, giving way for many builders to come in and redevelop a bunch of these properties in recent years.
These new inner city homes are for the most part built to compliment the lot size, direction and location in the neighbourhood as best as possible and range from contemporary to modern.
In addition, price per square foot for Capitol Hill homes compared to those in Altadore River Park, for example, typically isn’t as high; therefore buyers will most often get a great value when making a decision to purchase in the area.
New infills aren’t the only type of real estate for sale in Capitol Hill either. The area also has a selection of condos and duplexes and older homes ready for a fresh start of their own.
