Best Calgary Farmers Markets

When I was younger my grandparents used to live in Salmon Arm where they owned a farm and grew a variety of vegetables and fruits. Every week they would bring their produce to the local farmers’ market to make an extra buck or two and I, being the curious little boy I was, would go with them.

I remember how unique the Salmon Arm farmers’ market was, not only did they have fresh produce but different arts and crafts as well. Needless to say, as a youngin’ I had much fun exploring the sights, sounds and sometimes the tastes (when my grandparents or their friends let me) of the farmers’ market and today my fondness of the seasonal event has remained with me well into my adulthood.

Now things are a bit different. I can appreciate the hard work and commitment these men and women from around Alberta have in order to bring us our local Calgary farmers markets.

Crossroads Market

Crossroads is Calgary’s largest year round farmers market. Located in the inner city region just south of Inglewood, Crossroads offers a great selection of local and international foods as well as a nifty group of artisan vendors to boot.

Calgary Farmers Market is a bit different than your typical farmers market. Its well-organized indoor facility puts it apart from the rest. Located on Blackfoot Trail just south of Glenmore Trail, Calgary Farmers Market is convenient to get to and is a must-see destination! One of the best Calgary farmers markets in the south!
