Bocce Calgary Restaurant Review by Calgaryism
A new Italian restaurant called Bocce is giving us all another reason to be jealous of residents living in Cliff Bungalow and Mission.
Located on the corner of 22nd Avenue & 4th Street SW, this place has quickly become a go-to spot for quality Italian cuisine as well as late night dining and drinks on weekends. Here’s why…
- Atmosphere – 10.0/10.0
- Service – 9.5/10.0
- Food – 10.0/10.0
- Cost – 7.0/10.0

Atmosphere & Service
Whoever did Bocce’s interior design knows how to make you feel welcome and ready to eat. Embraced by a highly sophisticated interior, you immediately feel like this is the perfect place to indulge in food and drink and socialize until the night is over. On weekends that may very well be up until midnight if you choose (kitchen closes at 12:00am Thursday – Saturday)!
Tables are spacious and come in a variety of styles, a handful of which are right along 4th street SW for those who enjoy seeing vibrancy out on the street.
Service is just as high quality as the interiors as shown by our server who thoroughly explained pasta dishes we weren’t familiar with as well as any of the drinks on the drink menu to us in full (all are in Italian).
All in all, we were quite impressed with Bocce’s interiors and service and were looking forward to see if the food would be the cherry on top of this already fantastic restaurant experience.
Our Orders
Beef & Veal Meatballs - $15.00 – sundried olives, victor’s jalapenos, roasted red pepper, pomodoro sauce, parmigiano
Soft and tender meatballs doused in a delicious tomato sauce topped off with parmigiano cheese. If you like eating spicy, I recommend asking for a few extra jalapenos as they really made this an incredible appetizer to die for. You get a bit of everything – succulent meat, sweet sauce and a lovely spice to top it all off.
Mushroom Gemelli - $19.00 – wild roasted mushroom, parmigiano, oregano, garlic, fresh parsley
One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had with a fine balance between garlic, mushroom and olive oil without any taste being too dominant. This dish feels light on the stomach and doesn’t haul you down like other more greasy pasta meals I have had. A must try at Bocce!
Bocce is definitely one Italian restaurant that you want to check out in Calgary if you haven’t already!
