Buon Giorno Calgary Restaurant Review

Buon Giorno is home to some of the best Calgary pasta there is! Located on Uptown 17th Avenue in between 7th and 8th Street SW, Buon Giorno is an extremely popular inner city Italian restaurant and is as authentic as Italian gets!

Atmosphere

Buon Giorno feels like a little piece of Italy. It’s low ceiling entrance made me reminisce of the small restaurants I visited when I was in Italy a few years back. Walking further into the restaurant you will find its seating area, a moderately sized room with dim lighting and neat classical artwork depicting various scenario’s you would see back in Italy...I’m assuming.

On top of the great eating atmosphere even the servers are Italian, or look like they are anyway and some even have slight accents! I have been going to this restaurant for years and every time my server has done a fantastic job of making sure my table is taken care of.

Our Orders

Shrimp Appetizer – five de-veined shrimp smothered in garlic sauce and lemon juice – these shrimp are the perfect appetizer! Try them out if you like seafood!

Pomodori Salad – tomatoes topped with olives, capers and mozzarella cheese – one of the best pomodori salads in Calgary!

Cannelloni – two rolls stuffed with a spinach and veal topped with melted cheese and a delicious tomato / cream sauce – If you are a cannelloni buff, you won’t be disappointed with Buon Giorno’s take on it. Covered in melted cheese and surrounded by a very sweet and creamy sauce that compliments the tender and lean veal inside!

Spaghetti and Meatballs – your traditional spaghetti noodles served with jumbo meat balls and tomato sauce – arguably one of the best spaghetti and meatballs in Calgary! The meatballs are made with only the leanest beef and melt in your mouth!

If your planning on visiting Buon Giorno, I recommend you make reservations if you can! This place is always busy!
