Business in Canada – Why it is a Good Place for Business

Canadian Flag in Downtown AreaEvery time the United States presidential election draws near, a bunch of Americans threaten to pack up their things and move to Canada if their preferred electorate isn’t victorious. Most of these threats are all bark and no bite. The outlook for business in Canada might be reason enough for these jokers to reconsider.

Canada was selected as the number one best country for business by Forbes. While economic problems continue to arise in the United States and Europe, Canada has been doing quite well in comparison to most other nations. Forbes considers 11 different factors for 134 nations when determining what countries are best for business including taxes, technology, property rights, red tape, corruption, innovation, personal, trade and monetary freedom, stock market performance and investor protection.

Canadian banks managed to miss the bank crash seen in the United States and Europe, avoiding government bailouts and having substantial profits throughout the latest economic drought that began in 2007. Their success during these hard times and cautious lending habits helped them emerge as part of one of the strongest banking systems in the world.
