    Happy holidays Calgary! With New Years Eve just around the corner, now is a good time to start making plans for the big night if you haven’t already.

    Below are some of our favourite new years eve events in Calgary for 2015 / 2016 happening on December 31st, 2015, all of which are great for family, friends and everyone in between.

    Noon Years Eve @ TELUS SparkTELUS Spark Calgary Entrance Best Calgary Tourist Attractions

    • When – 9:00am to 4:00pm

    Noon years eve is a great way for families to celebrate this special holiday occasion together and still give lots of time for adults to make their own arrangements for later on at night.

    Activities and events include a special young ones count down at 11:45am with exploding hydrogen balloons and a bubble wrap dance floor where the kids can rock out to some of their favourite tunes.

    End the day off with a special dance from the Kugekai Lion Dance Team, an incredible performance also seen at the Calgary Zoo’s Illuminasia & Garden Festival which began a few months back in September.

    The City of Calgary is hosting its annual new years eve celebration at downtown’s Olympic Plaza with an outdoor skating rink, story-telling, a bonfire, live DJ music and ice sculptures with carving demonstrations.

    A live screening of Disney’s “Inside Out” animated film is starting at 5:00pm just in case you feel like heading on down to the plaza a bit early.

    End the night off with a big bang as fireworks synced to music and lasers will be set to go off to ring in 2016.

    Zoo Years Eve @ Calgary ZooCalgary Zoo Lights 2013

    • When – 6:00pm to 9:00pm
    • Where – 1300 Zoo Road NE
    • Cost - $13.00 to $17.00 (general admission)

    Zoo Years Eve is the perfect event for families with young children who want to celebrate with the kids before their bed time.

    Entertainment for the nigh includes urban dance performances, live music, comedy sketches, a skating rink and even a live graffiti artist inside the ENMAX Conservatory. You'll also be able to grab some food and drink at the cafeteria and other food concessions around the park.

    Don’t miss the fireworks at 8:00pm!

    Family Dance Party @ Municipal BuildingYour Source Best in Calgary Alberta

    • When – 7:00pm to 9:00pm
    • Where – 800 Macleod Trail SE
    • Cost – Free

    Calgary’s Municipal Building (a.k.a. City Hall) will become one of the hottest dance parties in town for kids this new years eve!

    Kids are encouraged to dress in white and other bright colors so that they will be lit up under the cool black lights as they traverse the obstacle course, hit up the crafts table, learn to play netball and sip on free hot chocolate all night long.

    • When – 4:30pm to 8:30pm
    • Where – 2623 56th Street NE
    • Cost - $3.00 to $26.30 (general admission)

    Ring in the new year with a splash at Village Square Leisure Centre’s decked out water park complete with multiple slides, hot tub, water playground, steam + sauna, diving boards, ball swings and for this special occasion live DJ music as well!

    The water park itself is open from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

    Before getting wet, families are invited to have some fun inside the gymnasium doing crafts and playing games between 4:30pm and 6:30pm.
