What
CANstruction is an annual fundraiser in Calgary that helps raise food for those who need it. After the structures are judged and seen by the public, every single last can of food used in the exhibit is donated to the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank.
Since CANstruction’s Calgary debut in 2006, the event has raised approximately 300,000 pounds of food!
When
2013’s CANstruction Calgary was from March 14th to the 21st at Southcentre Mall (one of the best Calgary shopping malls). I had the opportunity to visit the exhibit and was amazed by the creativity and dedication of the participating teams.
Each team had an extremely unique structure; it really was awe inspiring to see a structure, detailed, colorful, tall for the materials used, all that you would expect from a regular building to be built completely from canned food!
CANstruction is an annual event; I will do my best to keep you posted on when CANstruction 2014 will be taking place!
Where
CANstruction happens in a public place, like Southcentre Mall for example, where the event was held in 2013.
In 2012, the event took place at TELUS Spark Science Centre; I will do my best to keep you posted on the 2014 location and date when the time is near!
