Cirque Du Soleil Amaluna Coming to Calgary in April 2013

Cirque Du Soliel’s annual visit to Calgary is just around the corner! From April 11th to April 28th, 2013, the world-renowned entertainment group will be set up under the big yellow and blue tent at the Stampede Grounds.

For over 25 years Cirque Du Soleil has been coming to our city to amaze with their eclectic mix of circus arts and street entertainment. This time around they will be performing one of the newest additions to their travelling performances called Amaluna!

Amaluna

According to cirquedusoleil.com, Amaluna takes place on an island where the Goddesses rule and is guided by the moon cycles. Prospera, Queen of the island, directs her daughters coming of age ceremonies to honour rebirth, renewal, femininity and balance, which are passed on between generations.

After Prospera causes a storm, a party of youthful men are cast onto the Queen’s island. One of the brave and young castaways becomes involved with Prospera’s daughter, triggering an emotional love story between the two and sets the stage for a journey of epic proportions.
