Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria Westhills Calgary Restaurant Review

Three already existing locations in Calgary have made many of us familiar with the Famoso brand. Now, there is a fourth Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria location in Westhills with all that has made the restaurant a go-to place for delicious pizza any day of the week.

Oh, and did I mention that it is authentic Neapolitan pizza? That’s right, they import their gluten-free lour and tomatoes straight from the European boot itself, a.k.a. Italy, giving this pizza a really delightful taste that keeps you coming back for more every time.

Famoso Westhills couldn’t have asked for a better location. Cineplex Odeon Westhills, one of Calgary's best movie theatres, is located directly across the street, making the restaurant the perfect place to sit down and grab some food and drink before the show.

Wicked Pizza + Movie Deal

They even make it easy for you to catch a flick afterwards with their screaming movie ticket deal.

On Tuesdays, simply add $6.00 to the price of any pizza for a free movie ticket. Any other day of the week, add $8.00 and then you’re off to the shows and the best part is that the tickets are usable anytime, anywhere and don’t expire for two years!

Apart from the wicked pizza + movie deal, Famoso Westhills also has a full line-up of daily specials that range from $15.00 56oz beer pitcher Thursdays to $8.00 Margherita pizza Mondays. Check them out!

Atmosphere and Service

Famoso Westhills has the same warm and lively atmosphere as the other Calgary locations which make it a great place for get-togethers of any size.

Our server was friendly and was dressed very casually in a white t-shirt and jeans. I found that this informal look was quite relaxing for some reason, almost as if she was our friend but still did a great job of serving and making sure we were familiar with the pizzas.

All in all, great service, great atmosphere and great food!

Our Orders

Abruzzo - $14.75 – Oven-roasted Italian sausage and mushrooms, shredded red onions, smoked mozzarella, pecorino romano, fennel seeds – this pizza was definitely one of the most filling at our table, a must-try for mushroom and sausage lovers.

Don Andreas - $15.25 – New Crème Fraiche, fior-di-latte, roasted chicken, corn, avocado, cilantro, chipotle salsa, lime wedge and side of hot sauce – another outstanding pizza at Famoso Westhills, another must-try with a unique taste unlike any other pizza I have had!

Vesuvio - $13.75 – A spicy pizza with soppressata, pecorino romano and cracked chili pepper – a lighter pizza with a sweet but spicy taste that makes you want more after every bite.

Spicy Thai - $14.75 – Unique Thai-style pizza covered in a mildly spicy peanut sauce, roasted chicken, smoked mozzarella and fior-di-latte covered with bean sprouts, cilantro, diced carrots, crushed peanuts and lime – if you love Thai cuisine, then you will love this pizza and its savoury peanut sauce – so good!

Located directly across the parking lot from the Cineplex Odeon Westhills, Famoso will no doubt be one of those go-to pizzerias in the deep southwest with its screaming deals, authentic pizza and movie-bound location.
