Fergus & Bix Calgary Restaurant Review

If you live anywhere near Marda Loop, chances are that you have already been to Fergus & Bix for some delicious food. Not only are their meals superb, but so is their restaurant ambiance, servers and patio space.

I was definitely impressed by how well our server took care of my table, and I found myself extremely comfortable and ready to eat in the modern interior which had a wood trim and brick wall palette, leather booths, trendy furniture, dim lighting and HD TV’s everywhere which was great for watching the Euro Cup 2012 soccer game! With a variety of seating options between the bar, high, booth, patio and regular tables, the comfort of dining at Fergus & Bix Restaurant and Beer Market in Marda Loop, Calgary is hard to match by other restaurants in the vicinity.

To start I ordered the chicken penne with gluten free pasta, a Cajun chicken breast with mushrooms, snow peas, red and yellow peppers in a mildly spicy Gorgonzola cream sauce. This pasta dish was absolutely flavorful, with a nice contrast of textures and tastes between the chicken, vegetables and penne. For a side dish I had an order of the absolute must order yam fries. If you like French fries, I highly recommend trying Fergus & Bix yam fries, since they are so salty and yummy.

My lunch counterpart ordered the house mushroom burger with fries and saved me a bite. At first it was hard to fit into my mouth, but after the first bite it seemed as if it was easier to do because of the reward thereafter. Onion, lettuce, mushrooms, pickles and orange cheese on top of a juicy burger paddy made me want to come back to Fergus & Bix so I could order it for my main course the next time!

If you are in the Marda Loop area and are looking for a great summer patio destination in Calgary, for an awesome bar with ample HD TV’s and for some delicious food, then Fergus & Bix is the spot! I highly recommend this Calgary restaurant and beer market.
