Jamesons Brentwood Calgary Restaurant Review

Once in a while I get a huge craving for some good pub food. This happened to me just the other day while heading to the northwest, so I made a pit stop to check out the new venue at Jamesons Pub.

Sometimes Calgary pubs can be completely hit and miss, but this wasn’t the case at Jamesons!

Atmosphere and Service

Jamesons has done an exceptional job at renovating. A brand new pub-style interior with dark wood finishings, multiple HDTV’s and two-tiers of seating creates a dynamic and enjoyable atmosphere.

If you’re not watching the game, the open-concept interior makes it quite easy to check out what’s going on around you.

It must make it easy for the servers too as mine took care of all my needs and made sure my glass was always full - exceptional service without a doubt.

Our Orders

Buffalo chicken sandwich - $14.00 + $2.00 – buffalo chicken tossed in hot sauce, fresh lettuce, ranch dressing and cheese on a ciabatta bun.

I asked my server if I could convert the buffalo chicken wrap to a sandwich. For only $2.00 extra, I got the battered chicken smothered in a mix of ranch and hot sauce served on a ciabatta bun instead served with choice of salad or fries.

Being the big buffalo chicken buff I am, I was a bit disappointed with how mildly spicy the chicken was as a spicy sauce is my favourite part of this type of sandwich. Regardless, the fresh ingredients used made every bite as enjoyable as the last.

Kickin Shrimp - $12.00 – six spicy friend shrimp lightly breaded with panko tossed in light chili mayo.

An Asian fusion dish with battered, fried shrimp covered in a spicy but tasty sauce I’ve had before.

But then I didn’t know what the ingredient was. Now I know that light chili mayo is the sauce with that unique wasabi-like taste that’s makes anything it touches a delectable treat.

Whether you’re there to enjoy the game, have some social drinks, chow down on a meal with friends or perhaps all three, Jamesons Pub in Brentwood has everything that you need for a good’ol time.
