Here are Calgaryism’s top late night eateries in Kensington for you to enjoy at all hours of the night. Some are even open until 4:00am, something rarely seen for food establishments around the city!

Canadian Pizza Unlimited (CPU)

CPU serves some of the best pizza out of all the major pizza restaurant chains, and the best part is that you don’t have to buy a whole pizza to get a taste.

They offer slices for only $3.00 and cans of pop for just $1.00, a perfect way to spend that left-over change after the pub, club, lounge or wherever you chose to spend your night. CPU in Kensington is open until 4:00am.

Shawarma King

Approach the Kensington BRZ from 14^th Street NW or Crowchild Trail N and the Shawarma King will be one of the first late night eateries you’ll stumble upon.

As the name suggests, this place has a variety of Mediterranean and Lebanese cuisines such as chicken shawarma, beef and / or lamb donair, platter plates (rice + meat + veggie + sauce combo dish) plus some distinct meals I’ve never heard of before that look quite yummy in the picture provided on the larger-than-life wall menu. Shawarma King is open until 4:00am daily.

Shawarma and Falafel City

Travel a block and a half east past the Shawarma King and you’ll find another Mediterranean / Lebanese late night eater called Shawarma and Falafel City.

Both of these places have nearly identical menus, however, some ingredients used and the taste of the food is noticeably different. You’ll have to try both of these places to make up your mind as they are both very good!

I recommend getting a donair or shawarma here; they wrap it with an extra piece of thin pita that makes for a very clean and tasty meal! Shawarma and Falafel City is also open until 4:00am daily.

Subway

You can never go wrong with Subway. Really, it must be much better health-wise to eat a sub packed with veggies than it is to jam your face with some greasy pizza or poutine, although sometimes the latter is just what food we crave at all hours of the night.

Fortunately, for those that consider what they eat any time of the day, Subway in Kensington is open until 4:00am every day of the week.

The Big Cheese Poutinerie

You haven’t earned your poutine stripes until you’ve tried one of the make-it-yourself poutine boxes at The Big Cheese.

Choose from an assortment of poutine categories including traditional, beef, chicken, pork and vegetarian, each with its own set of sub-types such as buffalo chicken, smoked meat and porky pig to give some examples.

This place may just be the ultimate late night stop when you got a craving for deliciously greasy food! The Big Cheese in Kensington is open until 3:30am on weekends and 11:00pm weekdays.
