Delicious Food at The Coup
I consider this to be a stand out restaurant in Calgary. Not only does it offer vegan and dairy free menu items, they are also made with the best local ingredients! Which restaurant is it? The Coup on 17th Ave SW, located in the heart of the Redmile. You will never be disappointed when having breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert or even just drinks when you pop into The Coup.
Everything I have eaten at The Coup has been delicious every time, so I highly recommend it all. Covering it all from Breakfast to dinner and more, here are my favorites.
Breakfast:
The Hippy Split - A light and tasty menu item, it’s the perfect way to start the day. Made with granola, quinoa, bananas, preserves, hemp hearts, and your choice of milk! I am ready for anything after eating such a healthy breakfast like the Hippy Split!
Brunch:
The Mediterranean Scramble - Your choice of 3 eggs or smoked tofu scrambled with red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, olives, and sheep feta! The whole dish is topped with a little oregano and some basil. Can you say yummy? In addition it comes with toast but I recommend subbing it out for the tasty potatoes.

Lunch:
Are you feeling like a light meal but not a salad? The type of soup available is always changing and absolutely delicious; last time I had it, it was a coconut ginger and was absolutely amazing! Ask your server for the feature of the day and depending on how hungry you are you can have the small or large, served with an organic focaccia.
Feeling a bit hungrier at lunch?
The Messy Janes - A vegan take on the sloppy joe! Toasted focaccia bread, with egg or tofu scramble, veggies and toasted seeds all topped off with tahini miso gravy. Mmmmm.
Dinner:
To start I love the rosemary yam fries, fresh yams baked to perfection and you get a choice of what dip comes with!! I recommend the tahini miso gravy as it is so get in my belly now!
The Beachfront Hotpot - this is one dish you are sure to hear RAVE reviews about every time! A spicy coconut tomato lime broth, loaded with seasonal vegetables, lotus root, edamame, lemon grass, and rice vermicelli noodles. By far a dish I crave and will go out of my way to get time and time again.
Dessert:
Vanilla tofu latte sundae - is perfect on a hot day and will leave you lactose intolerant individuals with a happy tummy and it's delicious, what else could you really want?
Drinks:
Craving a little beverage after a long day? Here are the favorites - Coconut Chai is delicious on a hot day or a cold day, take your pick whether or not you want it hot or cold!
The fresh pressed juice - fun because you get to choose the combination of juices flavors, never boring when you can mix it up!
For a nice alcoholic beverage try the Mojito or super extensive wine list. Don't forget to also ask about the drink of the day, as it is always a surprise and ALWAYS delicious!!!
This just goes to show you that there are so many little gems in Calgary's restaurant scene!! So support local and go to The Coup, where vegans and non vegans will leave beyond satisfied and with a whole new dining experience!
