    The Keg in Calgary

The Keg Calgary RestaurantThe Keg is a top notch restaurant that is always packed to the max on any weekend night. There are many Kegs’ in Calgary that are all equal in quality; something that is testament to the level of quality of their restaurants. One thing about The Keg is the exceptional quality of service and relaxing, private eating areas that make for a great meal every time.

After surviving a long hour wait in the line-up at the downtown Keg location, we finally were seated at a table. Famished and ready to eat, I ordered a filet-mignon steak with French onion soup and a calamari appetizer. Our drinks and food were brought out promptly, which was surprising for how busy it was. One of the steaks we ordered wasn’t cooked to perfection, so the guest service host had it replaced and back in sight before we could even blink, no questions asked.

    On to the Food...

No matter what, if a restaurant has French onion soup on the menu, I will order it. It’s one of my favorites and The Keg does a great job at making one of the best ones around. The broth itself is thick with onions and the cheese on top is baked crispy to perfection. Just be careful not to touch the bowl because it will burn! Following the soup, I indulged in my calamari and shared it with some friends. Served with diced onions and cilantro, the lightly fried squid is delicious. A specialty dipping sauce is served with the calamari that makes the experience that much more satisfying.

My filet mignon was absolutely delicious. It‘s tenderness went well with how juicy it was. Another nice touch was the applewood smoked bacon that was wrapped around it. Roasted potatoes and asparagus added another tasty element to the dish that complimented the succulent meat.

Overall, this Keg experience was just like any other one; awesome! I highly recommend stopping in to any Keg location around Calgary for a more than satisfying lunch or dinner. Maybe you just ate here and are looking for another restaurant to eat at. Hopefully some of these following suggestions will help you!
