The Loop Calgary Restaurant Review
For those looking for scrumptious food at a reasonable price, then The Loop in Marda Loop is for you. Almost everything about the restaurant is exactly the same in comparison to when it was Nellies; the food, restaurant decor and even the staff. I had no complaints about the previous Nellies and The Loop owners have done a good job in continuing on with the things that have made the restaurant a success in the Calgary community. This restaurant is very busy on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays for breakfast, brunch and lunch so plan on waiting in line for a little while on these particular days.
After a glance my attention was immediately drawn to the “Bennies Galore” section of the menu which had seven different kinds of Eggs Benedict to choose from. I decided on the Bison Bennie – A toasted English muffin topped with two poached eggs, two 100% Alberta Bison patties, and sweet hot BBQ sauce plus hash browns and a few pieces of fruit. What really stuck out about the dish was the soft, juicy bison and sweet BBQ sauce, adding a nice flavour to the already delicious meat.
Other Eggs Benedict’s at The Loop
- Classic Bennie – choice of bacon or ham
- Veggie Bennie – spinach, roasted yellow pepper and grilled tomato
- Prosciutto Bennie – prosciutto and caramelized onions
- Hellfire Bennie – banana peppers, chorizo sausage, chipotle hollandaise, and hot sauce
- Chorizo Bennie – chorizo sausage, cream cheese and chipotle hollandaise
- Salmon Bennie – smoked salmon, red onion and capers
If you are looking for good breakfast and brunch spot in the SW inner city region of Calgary, then stop in at The Loop in Marda Loop. With many different menu items including a kids menu, it is a very popular family breakfast and brunch spot and I recommend it to those in Marda Loop looking for some good food!
