Legacy's New Catholic School & Current Designated Schools

Catholic residents in Legacy, an award-winning suburban community in southeast Calgary, should be thrilled to know that groundbreaking has occurred at a new high school in the area!

Here’s the “need to know” facts on the new Calgary Catholic District School:

• Host to Grades 10 to 12

• Capacity of 1500 students

• Estimated completion in Fall of 2018

Are you looking to register your teenager into the new Catholic school? If so, here’s the registration procedure:

Students who are found eligible to attend the school based on current registration and / or attendance to a current designated Catholic school and the location that they live will be automatically registered.

Parents / legal guardians whose teenagers are currently not registered in a Calgary Catholic school are welcome to visit the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) to find specific information on registration procedures.

Legacy Elementary Students

Current designation for Legacy elementary students is to Fish Creek School, located just a few minutes’ north in the community of Sundance and also beside the designated junior high school for the area.

Here’s what you need to know about Fish Creek School:

• Host to Grades 1 to 6

• Capacity of 600 students

• Address – 1039 Suncastle Drive SE

Legacy Junior High Students

While the new Catholic high school gets underway, Legacy’s designated junior high school is preparing to open its doors for the 2016 / 2017 season.

Here’s what you need to know about MidSun School:

• Host to Grades 7 to 9

• Capacity of 800 students

• Address – 660 Sunmills Drive SE

Legacy Senior High Students

Located north just a few kilometres in Canyon Meadows is the designated public, French immersion and Spanish bilingual senior high school for Legacy.

Here are the basics on Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School:

• Host to Grades 10 to 12

• Capacity of 1700 students

• Address – 220 Canterbury Drive SW
