Soon enough locals and visitors alike will have the chance to experience its innovative spaces that have been in the planning process for a very long time, one that spanned two years and included the input from nearly 20,000 Calgarians.

• $245 million price tag

• Architecture by Snohetta & Dialog

• 240,000 square feet of library space

• 278,000 square feet of total space occupied

• 600,000 books and other library collection items

• Areas designated for children, teens and special functions

• Two thirds larger than the existing downtown Calgary Public Library

• Encapsulates the southwest C-Train line

• Approximately 16 to 18 months of construction

• Completion slated for some time in 2018
