    Elboya Community

    This neighbourhood has an incredible location just minutes from the downtown core, river pathways and main city routes. In the community itself, you'll find many of the homes in Elboya are found on hills of varying elevations, providing some with incredible views of downtown and Stanley Park to the west.

    Owners of Elboya real estate tend to stay for the long term because of the community's desirability. It's also a smaller neighborhood, which means there are typically less than 20 Elboya homes for sale in Calgary at any time.

    The streets in this neighbourhood are designed to disallow access from Macleod Trail S to 42nd Avenue SW. This helps to decrease traffic in the community and makes for a serene ambiance during all seasons of the year.

    Community History

    The City of Calgary annexed Elboya in 1910 as part of the initiative to build more houses as the community expanded outwards from the downtown core. Homes didn't begin construction until 1947 when it became officially recognized as a community.

    Like many other inner city areas, Elboya was initially farmland. Today, new infills, luxury home developments and some multi-family projects have now replaced many of the old post-war homes originally built in the area.

    Many new infill developments and custom luxury builds with views are found throughout this area. Some townhomes and condos exist in Elboya, but are limited in number and aren't always listed on the resale market.

    All properties have quick-and-easy access to the Elbow River and its pathways. Stanley Park is also easily accessed on foot, even from the furthest part of the neighbourhood.     Residents of Elboya enjoy convenient access to amenities along Macleod Trail South. Also, nearby are the communities of the Beltline, Mission and Downtown, where you will find countless restaurants, shops and services to supplement your everyday needs.

    Meanwhile, convenient access to the Elbow River parks and pathways provides residents with endless kilometres of walking/biking/hiking paths.

    To the north along these pathways is Repsol Sport Centre, Lindsay Park and eventually the downtown area. To the south, these pathways lead to the popular parks near Altadore and eventually to the Glenmore Reservoir and Weaselhead Natural Area.
