Canada's sports history takes us back in time to a place when our nation, as young as it may be compared to others around the world, was developing into the strong and proud country it is today.

Part of that development was closely related to sports such as hockey, lacrosse, football, figure-skating, curling and even dog-sledding, breeding generation upon generation of skilled athletes and is why Canada is identified as one of the most competitive countries in the world when it comes to winter sports.

Just look at the past two Winter Olympic Games for example. In 2014, Canada was fourth out of all participating countries in medal count with a total of 25, and third for total gold medals with 10.

Four years prior, Canada was third in total medal count with 26 but first overall for total gold's with 14! As a matter of fact, Canada Holds the Gold Medal Record at the Winter Olympic Games!

Canada has a long history of success in the Winter Olympic Games and we Calgarians have the opportunity to see it all at Canada's Sports Hall of Fame!
