Bro’Kin Yolk Calgary Restaurant Review
If you like restaurants specifically tailored to the needs of breakfast / brunch / lunch lovers like me, then you’ll absolutely love Bro’Kin Yolk.
Found in the deep northwest, this place is a perfect meet up spot for those in the Evanston area and is worth the trip even if you don’t live nearby - take my word for it!

Atmosphere & Service
Inside you’ll find a light and cozy atmosphere with 6 to 8-person booths and bar seats along the open-kitchen’s perimeter. There’s also a bunch of two and four person regular tables filling up the rest of the seating space. Bathrooms are uni-sex and were quite clean, something I always notice at restaurants.
As far as service goes, we had a very attentive waiter who also knew the menu inside and out. He recommended the chicken and waffles, avocado sandwich and classic eggs benedict. However, I could not resist the menu description of the breakfast poutines.
Our Food
Truffle, ham & wild mushroom breakfast poutine - $14.50 – bed of duck fat hash, two soft poached eggs topped with cheese curds and roasted garlic hollandaise sauce
This breakfast poutine is a low-grease mixture of sautéed mushrooms, melted cheese, bits of ham, truffle flakes and lightly-fried hash browns topped with a not-too-sweet hollandaise sauce that makes every bite a party in your mouth. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes skillets and poutines.
Oh, and don't miss the organic apple juice!
Open face avocado sandwich - $14.00 – avocado, tomato, sunnyside up egg, balsamic reduction on 9 grain toast topped with basil arugula puree
If you’ve just eaten breakfast and want something different (like my lunch partner did), or perhaps are simply looking for a lighter lunch then this is one entrée you should try.
Each bite you experience a mix of tomato, avocado and egg tastes that finish off with a slightly sweet balsamic taste. Throw in the bread and you got a good balance of texture to make this entrée one that we recommend.
All-in-all, Bro’Kin Yolk is by far one of my favourite suburban restaurants I’ve visited as of late. Check it out this best breakfast restaurant in NW Calgary the next time you’re in Creekside!
