Quick Facts: What You Should Know About East Village Projects

East Village has been the talk of the town ever since Calgary Municipal Lands Company (CMLC) conceptualized its revitalization back in 2007.

Since then little in terms of construction and redevelopment has been noticeable while passing by, up until a few years ago anyways when the first major construction projects started. See the History of Calgary's East Village here.

Now every month, progress on buildings like the brand new National Music Centre, revitalized Simmons Building and New Central Library can be easily perceived, refocusing the public’s eye on this long awaited development and creating more excitement for its completion than ever before.

National Music Centre

I Love East Village

The complete revitalization of the birthplace of my home town is exciting to say the least. With only a few developmental parcels left for sale in East Village, it will be interesting to see what types of developments the CMLC announces in the coming years.

These additions, as well as others like St. Patrick’s Island, RiverWalk and The Riff, undoubtedly will and have made East Village a top destination for those looking to experience an urban lifestyle in Calgary to the fullest.
