Located in bottom-floor retail, the coffee shop will be in the heart of this pedestrian-friendly downtown community. It joins several other businesses who have recently opened or have yet to open their doors to the public in the highly desirable East Village, including:
- Frilly Lilly
- Mari Bakeshop
- Shoppers Drug Mart
- RedBloom Salon
- Sidewalk Citizen Bakery
Good Earth
Good Earth has been establishing coffeehouses in Calgary with a strong community feel since 1991. Its reputation as a healthy, and sometimes organic food and drink establishment has made it a popular choice among locals everywhere.
Since its establishment, the company has chosen to source its coffee beans through a direct trade relationship with organic farmers of several countries between the Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer. This relationship supports the communities where their coffee is grown and gives the company the opportunity to choose farms that promote social and environmental sustainability.
Today, Good Earth has countless coffee shops across Canada in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
More to Come for East Village
What other shops, restaurants and services are on their way to East Village? Currently, the mixed-use community is almost sold out of developmental parcels which means there will me much more bottom-floor retail spaces to come soon.
Expect to see several other businesses open their doors once new condo projects like N3, Verve and The Hat complete construction. Also keep an eye out for the pedestrian friendly street dubbed “The Riff”, which will bring a unique outdoor shopping experience and several new stores to the heart of Calgary’s most anticipated up and coming community.
I Love East Village
East Village’s master plan is yet to realize its full potential. Once completed in five or so years, I know that many locals (including myself) are excited to see it grow into the ultimate cultural and festival hub of downtown that Calgary’s been waiting for.
