Calgary Condos - Benefits of Condo Living
Calgary condominiums come in all shapes and sizes. From small studio apartments to multi-bedroom penthouses, there’s a condo for every type of buyer on today’s market.
There are many benefits of condo living that have increased their appeal especially for Calgary first time home buyers and urban professionals looking for a low maintenance, “lock and leave” lifestyle.
Here are some of the most beneficial reasons why condo living isn’t that bad at all!
Affordability
Who could deny the general affordability of Calgary condos has a huge part to play in their increasing popularity?
It’s true, as single family home prices in Calgary remain strong, so will the demand for more affordable or better located condominiums and townhouses.
Inner city and downtown condominiums offer a walkable lifestyle just seconds from some of the best restaurants, entertainment venues and amenity areas in Calgary. Paired with exceptional convenience, the affordability of some of these new condos are hard to look past for many buyers!
Lock and Leave
Shut off the lights, lock the door and then leave for an extended period of time. As long as necessary, for work, a few days, a week or maybe only a few seconds, it doesn’t matter because condo living means anyone can lock and leave without repercussions from a lack of home maintenance.
It’s an ideal way to live for many young and urban professionals who spend more time out and about than at home. The same is true for those who enjoy a luxury lifestyle on a top floor penthouse suite! Less maintenance means more time in the day to do more important things in life.
In-House Amenities
Most homes don’t have the list of in-house amenities like condominiums do. Certain Calgary condos might have fitness facilities, lounges, a few have swimming pools, some with 24 hour security, fitness facility, sky lounge, roof top garden, activity rooms or a variety of other in-house amenities (only one or several of these combined) at a given time.
Who wouldn’t like to know that their property is being guarded by 24-hour security personnel, or that they don’t have to fork out extra cash for a gym membership every month because their in-house fitness facility is superb with all the latest and greatest equipment? Not many! Just another one of the huge benefits of condo living!
Condo Fees
Some are not so fond of having to pay monthly condominium fees when it comes to condo living. Regardless, condo owners are set free from any maintenance duties such as shoveling snow, washing windows, cutting common property lawn, or saving themselves for the eventual replacement cost in the structure, roof, mechanical etc. and or anything else of the sort that falls outside of the responsibility of condo owners.
To get an idea of what is and what isn’t common property, condo buyers will want to review their condo documents or talk to their real estate agent to make sure they are completely informed and have all the facts before making any decisions. See more at Your Condo Guide to Condo Fees.
