What to Ask Your Calgary REALTOR®: Question #5
Using the right REALTOR® for the job when buying and / or selling Calgary real estate is critical to a successful transaction. You want to use someone who is service-focused, experienced and will do everything they can to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with your move in real estate when all is said and done.
One of the questions you want to ask when interviewing a REALTOR® concerns his or her recent activity in the industry. For example, would you want to use a top-producing REALTOR® with 30 or more sales in the past 6 months, or perhaps one who has only had 3 sales?
Which one is likely to have more experience in the current residential market? Who is more likely to have a marketing plan for clients that works?
Let's explore how recent activity in the market is indicative of many things when it comes to a REALTOR®, and how that may benefit you during your next transaction below:

Q5. How many homes have you sold in the past year? Are you a full-time REALTOR®?
Having a high amount of sales over the past several months means a REALTOR® is highly involved in his or her profession every day and has the experience to get the job done.
Communication with clients and other industry professionals is happening on a daily basis, while trends in the local real estate market are recognized and can help him / her provide you with more in-depth advice on your own personal transaction.
Almost always a REALTOR® with a high amount of sales will be working full-time. As with most other professions, the amount of time a person puts into their job is usually indicative of their passion for it.
Sometimes it may be several weeks before a buyer, for example, finally closes on a property. Meanwhile, it may be a few months in today's current market conditions before a condo seller gets an offer on their apartment.
This process involves continuous work by a REALTOR®; often he / she is on call at all hours of the day coordinating with all parties involved, all the while keeping your best interests at heart.
Would you rather have a part-time agent who works half the week on your team? Or perhaps a full-time agent, one who is available any day of the week and is up-to-date with current market trends and changes in the industry? We think the answer to this question is obvious!
Cody Battershill, REALTOR®
I take pride in providing the best service and advice to my clients on their timeline, meaning I am available to them any day at any hour to answer questions, make recommendations and guide them step-by-step through their transaction.
In real estate, not everyone you're working with will have a schedule that's 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. That's why it's important to have flexibility to work early hours in the morning on a weekday or late at night on weekends so that my clients transactions go as smoothly as possible and get done in a timely manner.
As a top-producing REMAX real estate agent in Canada (2013, 2014, 2015h) and often a monthly top-producer at REMAX House of Real Estate based out of Altadore in SW Calgary, I am extremely active in helping people buy and sell real estate daily and would love the opportunity to help you with your next transaction!
Remember to ask yourself, would you want a full-time or part-time agent working for you?
